Global Entry Mobile App Is Changing September 15

If you use the Global Entry Mobile App when returning to the United States, there is an important change coming September 15.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is replacing the current Global Entry Mobile App and the Trusted Traveler Programs mobile app with one new Trusted Traveler mobile app.

For Global Entry members, the important thing to know is that your membership isn’t changing. Only the app is changing.

From the Global Entry Mobile App to the Trusted Traveler Mobile App

The current Global Entry Mobile App will stop functioning on September 15, 2026. Beginning that day, current users should download the new Trusted Traveler mobile app from the Apple App Store or Google Play and sign in using their existing credentials.

Your profile and membership information will transfer to the new app, and you do not need to reapply for Global Entry.

Once you sign in, CBP recommends confirming that your profile and membership information appear correctly.

What Will the New App Do?

The new Trusted Traveler mobile app combines the capabilities of the two existing apps in one place. At launch, it will support Global Entry, NEXUS, SENTRI and FAST.

The features currently available through the Global Entry Mobile App will carry over to the new app. Services may vary depending on your program, eligibility and location.faster.

Using the App When You Return to the U.S.

Global Entry members who are eligible for mobile arrival processing will still be able to use that service through the new Trusted Traveler mobile app at participating locations.

Instead of stopping at a Global Entry kiosk, eligible travelers can use their phone to complete the mobile arrival process and show their electronic receipt to a Global Entry officer.

What About Mobile Passport Control?

Mobile Passport Control is not part of this change. It remains a separate CBP service for eligible travelers.

If you don’t have Global Entry, Mobile Passport Control may still be another option for making your arrival in the United States easier.
