Prague Old Town Square Christmas Market

One of the best ways to cap off a river cruise on the Danube is a trip to Prague.  This is true whether you’re on a Christmas market cruise or not.  The highlight of Prague is the Prague Old Town Square.  This is where one of the Christmas markets are held 

The Prague Old Town Square is also the sight of the Astronomical Clock.  Another must see in Prague, giving you a two for one experience.

In 2018 my travels took me away over Thanksgiving and into the beginning of December. I shared the following video while I was still in Prague. Prague fell at the end of my trip. Everything we did on this trip fulfilled my desire to see different Christmas markets from my first trip. Prague’s Old Town Square Christmas market was so magical! Yes, I keep saying magical because it really is.

Let me paint the picture for you. We had finished eating dinner in one of the little restaurants that surround Old Town Square.  Walking out into the rain, we looked around at our final market. Suddenly, the lights on the Christmas Tree began to twinkle in time to the music. It took a second or two to get out my iPhone to record; which is why it doesn’t start right at the beginning.

The music was so beautiful! Honestly, it went on about 5 minutes. I only taped about a minute. The music is from a beloved Czech fairy tale, shown yearly at Christmas: Three Wishes for Cinderella.  If you want to hear the entire piece, I am not able to link it here, but it is available if you Google it.
