The question travelers are asking in 2020 is should I travel or stay home? This is a loaded question, because the another question that is equally important is can I travel or must I stay home? These decisions can be difficult to make on your own, when you may not have all the facts.
I don’t think anyone would argue that we are indeed living in interesting times. Thinking of my parents and grandparents living through World War II, I thought I would never see the challenges they faced. But we are facing many similar or equivalent difficulties. We do not have to eat Specially Prepared American Meat, aka SPAM, but we are stocking up for a period that is unknown to us, just as it was to them.
I planned to travel to Europe in a week and a half if it was at all possible. And yet, I felt that something else was coming and I had to wait for it. And this is something essential for everyone to understand. Waiting to see what happens in travel, and not acting in haste, can put you in the best position to reap the rewards.
The people who answered the question should I travel or stay home by choosing to cancel their cruise outright, out of fear, missed out on the great benefits the cruise line offered. For some, one day made the difference.
Cancellations March 5, or before, no refund provided. And travel insurance never covers cancellation out of fear, or because of epidemics.
Cancellations March 6 or after, a 100% Future Cruise Credit offered valid through December 31, 2021.
Wait a little longer, one week in fact, and Royal Caribbean cancels all cruises through When the cruise line cancels your journey for you, even more benefits may kick in. Instead of 100% future cruise credit, it’s 125%. The lesson is to ‘wait and see what happens.’ That is what I’m telling my clients because 24 or 48 or 72 hours can make the difference between losing your money or getting a refund or credit.
Well, my friend, that is where a travel advisor comes in. Keeping up with the latest changes and helping you navigate these rough waters and make the tough decisions. The best time to begin a relationship with a travel agent expert is when you start planning your trip.
Yes, there is a service fee, just as you would pay for any professional. Then, when there is a pandemic, airports are closing and times get difficult, this is where travel agent experts are worth the premium. We’re a bargain, and we’re in your pocket. We save you time on the phone, frustration on the internet, and money when you receive added value on your trip that didn’t cost you anything. And you wouldn’t have had if you had booked yourself.
If I’ve convinced you to work with a travel agent expert, then I have more information for you. Click here to read the Ten Reasons to Book 2021 Travel Now.
